Begumganj is located at . It has 118361 units of house hold and total area 426.05 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census[1], Begumganj has a population of 676168. Males constitute are 49.2% of the population, and females 50.8%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 313911. Begumganj has an average literacy rate of 44.4% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. [2]
