Beerjacket is the one-man musical pseudonym of Peter Kelly.
Beerjacket is one man alternative folk from Glasgow which has been variously likened to Elliott Smith, Bright Eyes, Jeff Buckley and "a lo-fi Rufus Wainwright".
Recent shows have included opening for artists as varied as The National, Bat for Lashes, Rilo Kiley, Sean Lennon, Guillemots, St Vincent, Giant Drag, Arab Strap, Jeniferever and Tom Vek. Beerjacket also performed at the 2006 Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival alongside Biffy Clyro, Guillemots, Mystery Jets, The Cinematics and Echo & The Bunnymen amongst others.
Two home-recorded albums were self-released in 2004, Oh My Head and Great Unhappiness. A third Beerjacket record, Accident History, was recorded between 25th July and 19th September 2005, released on 25th January 2006. The fourth Beerjacket record - The Slow Lane Is Faster was launched at a sold out show with the Guillemots at the ABC in Glasgow. Kelly released his fifth album, A Boy Of Action, on the 6th August 2007 through iTunes music stores worldwide. The album features 10 new tracks recorded between February and May, 2007. A new album Invited Ghost is due for a worldwide iTunes release in 2008, rumoured to feature a collaboration with Annie Hardy of Giant Drag.[citation needed]
