[edit] Wikipiedia is not a directory of links or a yellow pages system

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page Truck camper do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses Nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Will (Talk - contribs) 06:53, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Truck camper. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. Since Wikipedia uses Nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
It doesn't matter if you have a "vested interest" in this link or not. The question is "Does the link serve as a useful supplemental resource -- or is it just a related link. Related links are not considered useful. We also tend to look down on commercial sites and those that display ads not related to their products. You will find details at WP:EL and WP:NOT. [edit] Your request for sources on Truck camper

I moved this to the discussion page, as it really isn't appropriate in the context of the article page. --Versageek 17:02, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Oh Ok, no problem. I am actually putting the same request out on a couple of forums. The history is rather murky, and some of it is disputable as well, so it may take some time. I could put up some information right now, but I want to ensure it is as accurate as possible. If I cannot get solid references, I will create a web page and link to that instead.
