The Bede Wing is an inflated hang glider, built around 1980 by aeronautical engineer Jim Bede. It resembled an early ram-air parachute, but it was inflated with lighter-than-air gas. The aspect ratio was low, probably 1.8. With its really long suspension lines, the Bede Wing had almost no dihedral.
The Bede Wing came to naught, but foreshadowed the introduction of ram-air inflated paragliders in the mid-1980s.
