Becky Hogge is a UK-based music and technology writer and the executive director[1] of the Open Rights Group. She was previously the managing editor, and then the technology director and technology commissioning editor[2] for openDemocracy. During her time with openDemocracy she helped establish the China environment website chinadialogue, along with editor Isabel Hilton.
As a writer and commentator, she covers the global politics of technology, open source, and intellectual property rights. She writes a weekly technology column for the New Statesman and openDemocracy and has also written for The Guardian, Index on Censorship, Dazed & Confused and The Face.
Becky Hogge is a graduate of Kings College, Cambridge where she studied linguistics and acquired a devotion to predicate calculus while she studied French and Russian.[citation needed]
