Becca Swanson

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Becca Swanson is an American bodybuilder, powerlifter, and strongwoman who is often referred to as "The World's Strongest Woman" or "The Strongest Woman on the Planet".[1] She currently holds several powerlifting world records for women, including the highest squat, highest deadlift, and highest total lift.[2]

Swanson started out in 1996 as a bodybuilder, but switched to powerlifting because, according to her, larger, more muscular women had fallen out of favor in bodybuilding.[3] She is currently the only woman ever to squat over 800 pounds, or total over 1600 pounds. She has also competed in strongwoman contests, starting in 2002.
