"Because of You" is the fourth and final U.S. and third and final UK single from Marques Houston's debut album, MH. It's the fifth track on Houston's MH album.

The single did not fair nearly as well as Houston's previous singles in both UK and the U.S.. In the UK, "Because of You" missed the top forty but managed to peaked inside the top seventy-five at number fifty-one. However, in the U.S. the song became Houston's first to miss the Billboard Hot 100 altogether.

"Because of You" was also the first single from Marques Houston to feature a b-side, the song "Dirty Dancin'" had not been previously released and was only featured on the vinyl version of the UK single.

At present this is the third and final single to be released by Houston in the UK as no singles from his albums Naked or Veteran have been released there.
