Bebbanburg

Bebbanburg is an old name for Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland, England. Bebbanburg is near Lindisfarne Abbey, which was raided by the Vikings in the 8th Century AD. Bebbanburg was home to Anglo-Saxon kings. The town of Bamburgh, England was built around the Castle.
In literature, Bebbanburg is the home of Uhtred, the main character in Bernard Cornwell's The Saxon Stories, starting with The Last Kingdom, and the sequels The Pale Horseman, The Lords of the North and Sword Song.
