Beautifulgarbage (tour)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Beginning in October 2001 and lasting until November 2002, rock group Garbage completed a world tour in support of their third studio album beautifulgarbage. The tour covered the US, Canada, Mexico, UK and Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

After the dismal sales of beautifulgarbage the band were comforted in the fact that, night after night, their shows sold out and that audiences were still eager to see them perform live, and that their hard-core fans had stuck by them.

During the tour however various ailments almost brought the trek to an end on several occasions. Singer Shirley Manson began to lose her voice towards the end of the European leg, eventually discovering a cyst above her vocal cords while drummer Butch Vig fell ill with Hepatitis A halfway through dates supporting U2, and again fell ill six months later suffering from an acute ear infection.

On dates played while Vig was in recovery, the drumkit seat was filled by stand-ins Matt Chamberlain and Matt Walker.
