Beatles (song)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Beatles, written by Sven Olov Bagge and Claes Bure, was the song that, performed by Swedish dansband Forbes, won the Swedish Melodifestivalen 1977. The song, which's lyrics are about the popular 1960s British pop group Beatles, won and Forbes went to the United Kingdom to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 1977, with Anders Berglund as conductor. The audience cheered at the song, not unexpected since the contest took place in the United Kingdom, but the jury had another opinion. The song finished second last, and got two pints from the former West Germany.
At the Swedish singles chart, it peaked at #3.
The song was at Svensktoppen for four weeks during the period 17 April-8 May 1977, peaking at #6.
