BeatThatQuote.com was created by serial entrepreneur John Paleomylites. Paleomylites had previously sold his company JCP to Sun Microsystems for £40M. After careful research into the price comparison market, Paleomylites launched the BeatThatQuote.com brand in February 2005. BeatThatQuote.com has been recognised as one of the UK's fastest growing businesses in 2006, reflected in the various awards that it won during that year. In 2006 the company posted revenues of around £10M, and projects revenues of around £28M for 2007.

BeatThatQuote.com is a limited company, registered in the UK and operating from offices in London's Kentish Town. BeatThatQuote.com Limited is an appointed representative of Best Value Financial Services Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

BeatThatQuote.com was ranked by Nielsen Online as the fastest growing UK website of 2007, ahead of Facebook.
