| Purpose of use |
My rationale for fair use is to illustrate the article on the ballet La Bayadère which was created for educational purposes. No free equivalent of the image exists or could be created that could adequately give the same information. The article discusses Natalia Makarova's 1980 revival of La Bayadère at length, and how this version of the ballet has been staged for many companies all over the world in the same production. Since no free images of any of these productions are available, fair use is justified. The use of this image in the article does not encrouch in any way on the copyright holder. |
