Concerning the secrecy of the expedition, mentioned in the third paragraph: The New York Times of 26 October 1861 has an article on pages 1-2 with headline 'The Great Naval Expedition.' It gives the entire Federal order of battle, down to the regimental level. I confess that I don't know what to do with this. The information doesn't seem to appear in most histories, and therefore might be excluded under the 'no original research' stricture of Wikipedia. On the other hand, it is so blatant that it suggests that the writers of those histories did not do their homework. What shall we do about that?PKKloeppel (talk) 03:37, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
