I hate to insist on anything, but this small battle was pretty clearly "Indecisive". Besides, if you did want to go into undue detail over its outcome, you'd still be in error: the British won the "tactical" victory (more American casualties) and the Americans won the "strategic" victory (enemy victuals destroyed). [edit] Cannon

http://members.tripod.com/~war1812/batcooks.html says the UK had one cannon, which was effective, so I added it to the strength. Does anyone oppose this?

[edit] moved

I've moved this as per:

  • Lewis, William H. Aqueduct Merrittsville and Welland : a history of the city of Welland : the beginning years, A.M.W Publications, 1997. ISBN 0968274307.
    • my favourite source lately. It also calls this the Battle of Cook's Mills and specifies Calvin Cook expanded the existing mill just before the war (see Cooks Mills

I'll fix the relevant templates soon if noone opposes. --Qviri 03:47, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
