Bath bricks are still sold today. What surfaces are they suitable for? How do they compare to more popular alternatives?

The one I looked at today said suitable for cleaning & polishing metal. Tabby 16:12, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

It has been suggested that they obtained their efficiency from fine silica, so their action would be like carborundum paper or sandpaper. They were used to remove tarnish from metallic surfaces. Have you got a picture that you could add to this article?Pyrotec 17:46, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
