Battle of Kamianets-Podilskyi

Battle of Kamianets-Podilskyi (or Siege of Kamianets-Podilskyi) by Turks was in 1672 year when campaign against Poland w 1672 r.

Kamianets-Podilskyi known as "key to Podolia" had heavy strengthenings and solid crew (about 1500 soldiers). Although castle could defend for a long time, but crew capitulated on 27 August 1672 after about 2 weeks of siege. Loss of key fortress obliged Poland to sign Peace of Buczacz, which oblige Poland and Lithunia to pay year tribute to Turks in amount of 22,000 ducats. During the siege stolnik przemyski pułkownik Jerzy Wołodyjowski took many successful sallies and headed on light cavalry and came to the rescue of Żwaniec.
