The Battle of Arara (September 19, 1918) was part of the Battle of Megiddo which was fought between the Ottoman Empire and the French Armenian Legion. The Armenians of the French army distinguished themselves during the battle, and their bravery got well recognized by the Supreme Commander of the French army.[3]
In September 1918, on the Palestinian front, the Turkish army crumbled before the British expeditionary forces, which contained an American contingent commanded by a French colonel and French officers, as well as Armenian officers. The legion participated in the capture of the Heights of Arara[4].
