Battle of Albelda

Battle of Albelda, a name used for each of two battles fought near Albelda, Spain between Christians forces led by Ordoño I of Asturias and Muslims led by Musa ibn Musa. The first in 846 AD ended in a Muslims defeat. In 859, a second battle was fought at the same place, Ordoño and ally García I of Pamplona routing Musa's forces, reportedly killing 20,000 men and leveling the town.
