[edit] Line spacing problem

Each Ext links section that uses this template has an extra blank line inserted after the link to baseball-reference.com. I don't know why and couldn't fix it. Anyone? JamesMLane t c 05:31, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Seem fixed. There was a line return between two tags (/noinclude and noinclude). In fact, all categories and interwiki should be on the same line. Feuh 11:50, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
It displays properly now. Good work! JamesMLane t c 02:02, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Revert of my format changes

The link has now been changed to display the site with capital letters (as in Baseball-Reference), I think this is inconsistent with how most EL's appear. I would like to restore it to the way I did it. Does anyone have any objections or reasons why it should be capitalized? //Tecmobowl 09:18, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

I revised the phrasing from 'Major League Baseball statistics' to 'career major league statistics'; as the stats displayed sometimes are not those officially recognized by MLB (as with many 19th-century players), I think it's probably better to avoid the formal MLB designation in connection with the stats. Oh I think that was an excellent decision. My question is with regards to the use of capitalization. It seems that most el link templates seem to use lowercase nomenclature. //Tecmobowl 02:53, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
And not to be a total "nuisance", but would "major league career statistics" be considered grammatically correct? I'm NOT an english major, so i could be totally wrong here. //Tecmobowl 03:02, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
If anyone wants to switch it to 'career major league statistics', I won't object. MisfitToys 23:41, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

How is the current link format inconsistent with the appearance of most ELs? As far as I can see, external links are usually capitalized, and given that this website has been referred to as "Baseball-Reference" on search engines and other baseball websites, it would seem fitting that we keep it with the capitalized letters designation. On the Baseball-Reference website, only the banner at the top of each page shows the website name in lowercase letters. All other uses are with capitalized letters (see [1] for example). [edit] Analysis?

What's the point of having "and analysis" at the end of the template text? The page for any given player is purely statistical in nature, it's not like there's any prose worth calling analysis. (Not to denigrate the site, analysis isn't its function.) --Michael Snow 00:39, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] I have a new template created {{Baseballstats}}

I created a new template with more advanced features, and I am wondering if you would find it acceptable if I redirected this template to the new one (I made it backwards compatible). Documentation is on the new template. -- Basar (talk ยท contribs) 01:39, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
