[edit] Numbers
The figures of a catchment of 91.5 square miles, and 44 times larger than the catchment of any other lake in the Lake District, don't make sense. If they were accurate then the largest catchment of another lake would be about 2.1 square miles, which is clearly wrong. At least one of these numbers must be incorrect. 91.5 square miles seems too low - an LDNP web page gives ~350 km^2 (= ~135 square miles). Elsewhere I find a figure of 231 km^2 for Windermere.
70 feet would make more sense as the maximum depth than the average; streetmap.co.uk shows a small 20m depth contour. Lavateraguy 19:03, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
