[edit] Council of Florence

I believe that the Council of Florence was held not in Santa Croce but in the cathedral of Florence, Santa Maria del Fiore. The present church of Santa Croce was begun in 1294 and consecrated in 1442 by Pope Eugene IV. The Council of Florence moved to Florence from Ferrara in 1439. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dmaldari (talk • contribs)

[edit] Photo changes

Hi! i have taken away one pic of the facade, for there were 2 nearly identical. i thinked it would be better to show a variant. If you wish to retrieve the former image here it is: Image:FiIMG 0189 bordercropped.jpg. i decided to keep the older photo instead of the newer because the older shows the part of facade and campanile uncovered.regards! [edit] Name Change

I went ahead and moved this page over to an English name (was Basilica di Santa Croce di Firenze), as I have done with the Basilica of San Lorenzo, Florence. Since these churches are better-known by their Italian names (Santa Croce instead of Holy Cross) I kept those, but I changed Firenze into Florence and converted the prepositions. I will go about fixing any double redirects next. --Stomme 18:34, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
