Bassam El Shammaa (born 16 August 1962 in Alexandria, Egypt) is an author and lecturer on Egyptian history. He is the developer of the "Second Sphinx" theory.
He graduated from Victory College in Alexandria, studied ancient Egyptian Pharaonic, greco-Roman, Islamic and modern history at the Faculty of Tourism, Helwan University.
He has lectured through Europe and recently completed a tour of lectures in the United States.
