[edit] Name of county

The county was named for Lt. Col. Joseph Bartholomew (1766-1840), not for Joseph Bartholemew (1843-1901) the state supreme court justice (who was Lt Col Joseph Bartholomew's grandson). Nate 04:05, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
