[edit] creep?
Can anyone substantiate this claim:
- Barium nitrate is known for its tendency to "creep" up and spill out of containers.
[edit] stats
Specific gravity 3.2, melting point 592 C, decomposes before boiling from Handbook of Chemistry and Physics, 34th edition.
[edit] Old educational joke
My excellent high-school chemistry teacher, Mr. Miller, told us that barium nitrate was an undertaker's special. "Night rates are always cheaper than day rates." David R. Ingham 04:45, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Safety Data
The safety data appears to have been copied from the MSDS at http://www.jtbaker.com/msds/englishhtml/B0432.htm. Apart from being plagiarism, the section is hard to read. I will try to clean it up, reword the information, and add a source. --Pyrochem 01:32, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
I made the information into a paragraph, reworded it, and added a source. The symptoms list is still the same, but it's hard to change that without altering the factual data. --Pyrochem 02:01, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
