[edit] Proposed merge with lardon

Though the English word "lardoon" comes from "lardon", they are not synonyms. A lardon is any small piece of fat, whether used for larding or not. In particular, the lardon page refers to the small, cooked, pieces that are used in quiche Lorraine, not lardoons at all. Actually, I think the current lardon page should be merged into bacon, as the article describes pieces of non-smoked bacon. --Macrakis 17:49, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
