[edit] Saber Den reminiscences
I removed this from the article:
A small note about The Saber Den, it was originally a Bowling alley from the mid seventies to the early ninties. It the fane were removed from lack of interests from the students. It was cared for by Mr. Davis(Class of 1964) who decided to update the lounge. he commisoned new activities for the students such as Pool Tables, Tabble Tennis, User PC's and many board and card games to for student to enjoy themselves while being student. It is unknown about the current fate of "The Saber Den" but hopefully the current boardmembers will continue the legacy that Mr. Davis had set for that room. Another note is that on the bricks inside "The Saber Den" have the names of more than 345 students who purched individual bricks through Ms. Davis for a life spane of 35 year. It is a trully monument to the School Spirit it has accumulated over the decades. I has sections that honor the Student, Athelete, and Several Greek Organizations that have made both small a great contributions to Barber-Scotia College's legacy and motto "Lumen Veritas et Utilitas" (Knowledge, Truth and Science).
Some of this material may deserve to be in the article, but as submitted it is unencyclopedic, full of misspellings, not to mention being totally unsourced. Repair these issues before returning it to the article. --Orlady 16:27, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- Someone may have vandalized a legitimate paragraph in the article. I think Orlady is correct, the info may deserve to be there but that writing is disastrous, esp for a College article.Engr105th (talk) 06:45, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Re-write
This article is in need of a re-write. The efforts (circa 2005?) to shift to an institute focused on entrepeneurship now seem to be dropped in favor of a Christian education program. I tried to add an update for 2008 based on a recent Charlotte Observer newspaper article (I added the link as a reference), but there is a paucity of publicly available info on the school now. The website is non-functional. It shows a homepage with phone number and mailing address but the tabs & links no longer work. I called the number and got an automated voice message response (no indication it was a BSC phone# - no message like "thank you for calling Barber Scotia College..." etc)....School appears to be on the ropes.Engr105th (talk) 06:44, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
The "Organization" section should probably be deleted. The information there does not seem applicable anymore. If no one objects, I am going to remove it eventually. Engr105th (talk) 08:07, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
