[edit] POV-check
Towards the end of the article the language becomes almost partisan, when dealing with the material in relation to "Path to 9/11".
It appears Bodine is a Henry Kissinger protegé. She worked under him in his function as Secretary of State, and has been stepping up stream ever since.
"The Path to 9/11" is a work of fiction, according to ABC and the disclaimers on the film. Therefore, it is not a valid a source. In addition, the authors of "The Cell" never interviewed Bodine and therefore their account is also invalid. This part of the wiki simply needs to be removed. Stating "if you believe 'The Path to 9/11'..." might as well read "If you believe fiction..." Quite simply, there is no evidence to suggest that Bodine did not do her job well.
[edit] if one can believe the Path to 9/11...
she's an incompetent, politically correct boob who has contributed to our country being at risk from terrorists...
frontline did a documentary on john o'neill titled "the man who knew"... you can watch it here: [1]
in part seven, while discussing o'neill's investigation in yemen, it states that o'neill temporarily left the country and when he tried to return to continue his investigation, bodine denied his visa
frontline's account parallels the "path to 9-11"...
[edit] Armitage quote
The Armitage quote is given without citation but I found it in the documentary film No End in Sight. The full quote is:
Interviewer: Do you know why she was fired?
Armitage: I know why I was told...
Interviewer: What was it?:
Armitage: She was difficult to get along with and she was offering opinions that were counter to the prevailing wisdom in Bagdad at the time.
The quote in the article is taken out of context in that it does include Armitage saying the information second hand, and it's a misquote in that he does not specifically mention the CPA. Armitage does not claim any knowledge as to what the CPA's reasons actually were, so I'm removing the quote as contentious under the Biographies guidelines. The statement that she was fired is also unsourced but it can be inferred from what Armitage says. He does not claim to have first hand knowledge of this either.--RDBury 03:00, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Barbara is not very bright
One might get the impression from her government posts and "Phi Beta Kappa" credential that Barbara Bodine is at least reasonably intelligent person, but after watching several interviews of her I would described her as an "idiot" (and a person that is likely recognized as being a "useful idiot" by the powers that be). For example, she clearly does not understand the concept of "freedom of speech": http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1165081997805170902 Her analysis of terrorism does not go beyond regurgitating the phrase "Al-Qaeda". Likewise, she has no clue that the "mistakes" made by the US in Iraq that resulted in the current quagmire were no accident.
It is truly unfortunate that Wikipedia is unable to convey the real story behind political events. Bofors7715 (talk) 20:08, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
