Barrel Bird

The Barrel Bird is a fictional character in Ruth Plumly Thompson's The Curious Cruise of Captain Santa. John R. Neill, who illustrated that book, gave the Barrel Bird a cameo in Lucky Bucky in Oz.
The Barrel Bird is a black bird who wears a barrel, which does not impact its ability to fly. It is a companion to Santa Claus on his sea voyage.
