Lake Baroon is formed by Baroon Pocket Dam, a dam constructed in 1988 on Obi Obi Creek. The reservoir has a surface area of 400 ha, an average depth of 15 metres and holds some 60 000 ML of water. Its primary use is for town water supply for Maroochy and Caloundra. It is situated 7 km NE of Maleny and 5 km SW of Montville.
