From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The title of Baron of Ballyane in the Peerage of Ireland was created twice for the Kavanagh family and as it seems for life.
The first creation was on 8 February 1554 for Cahir McArt Kavanagh, who died in 1555.
The second creation was on 17 May 1558 for Dermot McCahir Kavanagh, who died some time after 1558.
The title was recreated as an Austrian one on 29 November 1723 for Dermott Kavangh and was recognized in Hungary on 2 February 1825 for Henrik Kavanagh Ballyane who died in 1830.
