Baron Melchett

Baron Melchett, of Landford in the County of Southampton, is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 5 June 1928 for Alfred Mond, Chairman of Imperial Chemical Industries and a former First Commissioner of Works and Minister of Health. He had already been created a Baronet, of Hartford Hill in Great Budworth in the County of Chester, on 8 July 1910. As of 2006 the titles are held by his great-grandson, the fourth Baron, who succeeded his father in 1973.
