Baron Courthope

Baron Courthope, of Whiligh in the County of Sussex, was a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 3 July 1945 for Sir George Courthope, 1st Baronet, Conservative Member of Parliament for Rye from 1906 to 1945. He had already been created a Baronet, of Whiligh in the County of Sussex, in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom in 1925. Lord Courthope had no sons and the titles became extinct on his death on 2 September 1955.
Lord Courthope's ancestor and namesake, Sir George Courthope, sat as Member of Parliament for East Grinstead from 1660 to 1679.
