Barney Baxter

Barney Baxter in the Air, later shortened to Barney Baxter was a comic strip by Frank Miller. It started its run in 1935, for the Denver's Rocky Mountain News "Junior Aviator" page and was syndicated by King Features. The strip was drawn by Miller until 1942 when Bob Naylor took over the duties for a short period. Miller returned to the strip in 1945. The strip was discontinued in 1950 by King Features.
Barney Baxter is a young aviator, who along with his sidekick Gopher Gus, a desert rat turned pilot went through numerous adventures fighting spies, air pirates, Latin American warlords and during World War II, Nazis and the Japanese.
