Barmen

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Barmen is a municipal subdivision of the German city of Wuppertal. Formerly an independent town, Barmen joined the newly-incorporated city of Wuppertal in January 1930. The asteroid 118173 Barmen is named in its honour, celebrating the 1934 Synod which issued the Barmen Declaration defining protestant opposition to the National-Socialist ideology.
