Baring Baronets
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There have been two Baronetcies created for members of the Baring family, one in the Baronetage of Great Britain and one in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom.
The Baring Baronetcy, of the City of London, was created in the Baronetage of Great Britain on 29 May 1793 for the influential banker Francis Baring. For more information on this creation, see the Baron Northbrook.
The Baring Baronetcy, of Nubia House on the Isle of Wight, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 4 February 1911 for the Liberal politician Godfrey Baring. He was the son of Lieutenant-General Charles Baring, son of Henry Bingham Baring, son of Henry Baring, third son of the first Baronet of the 1793 creation. Baring was succeeded by his eldest son, the second Baronet. He was a Major in the Coldstream Guards. He died childless and was succeeded by his nephew, the third Baronet and (as of 2007) present holder of the title. As a descendant of the first Baronet of the 1793 creation, he is also in remainder to this baronetcy, a title held by his kinsman Francis Baring, 6th Baron Northbrook.
