Bardufoss is a small town (pop.: ca. 2200) in Målselv municipality in Troms county, North Norway. Bardufoss is located north of Narvik and south of Tromsø; it has a civilian and military airport, Bardufoss Air Station, suitable for landing bomber aircraft, fighter jets such as F-16s, and other heavy planes. Bardufoss is also the home of the Norwegian Army's 6th division. Although not far from the coast, Bardufoss and the Bardu Valley is known for a somewhat more continental climate, and hence, colder winters (but with less humidity and not so much wind) compared to the coastal areas. It is covered in flora.
