Barclay is a neighborhood in the Eastern district of Baltimore, Maryland. Its boundaries are the north side of North Avenue, the west side of Greenmount Avenue, the east side of Saint Paul, and the south side of 25th street. The neighborhood lies north of Greenmount West, south of Charles Village, west of East Baltimore Midway, and east of Charles North. Though the area was once considered middle-class, it has in the last century experienced economic depression, housing abandonment, crime and gang problems. It is largely comprised of lower income African American residents and is known as a neighborhood occupied by the Young Gorilla Family gang.[1]
