Barbara Zápolya (14951515) was Queen of Poland and Grand Duchess of Lithuania as the first wife of king of Poland Sigismund I the Old.

She was the daughter of a Hungarian noble, Stefan Zápolya[1], and Polish princess Jadwiga Cieszyńska. Barbara was a younger sister of future King of Hungary János Szapolyai.

She was the mother of Jadwiga Jagiellon (1513-1573) and Anna.[1] After her death, Sigismund ordered the construction of the Sigismund's Chapel at Wawel Castle, where she was buried.[2]
