[edit] Name

Is it called "banana" because of its shape or flavor? Badagnani 19:25, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

It doesn't taste anything like banana in my experience, so I think it is probably because of the shape and colour. Incidentally, the information on this page needs a bit of a tidy. For example, in New Zealand there are three or four species that have "banana passionfruit" as part of the name (depending on what common name is applied to the true Passiflora mixta). I'm not sure how much should be on this page and how much on the pages for the individual species though. Any thoughts on this welcome. Solanum dulcamara 09:50, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
