[edit] Rationale
[edit] Fair use in Culture of Yorkshire
The image linked here is claimed to be used under fair use as:
- The image is of retired football player Gordon Banks making what is commonly dubbed Save of the Century from Pele in the 1970 World Cup for England. Banks is one of the greatest footballing figured in Yorkshire history and as the county is regarded as the home of the game, it is important that an image such as this, displaying one of the prime moments of Banks' career be shown to give information it otherwise could not. A free replacement cannot possibly be created as the player has long since retired from the game and this is a unique moment in time.
The image is a copyrighted image. U.S. copyright laws apply to this image. Should a free or public domain image be located, it should be used in place of this image.
