[edit] Initial info
Cover of 1930 edition of The Banditti of the Plains. First printed in 1894. My work, a cell-cam.
Lousy photo. Maybe I'll eventually upload a better one.
My mistake to say 1934. Really 1930, c.f. < http://www.appliedinternet.com/books/banditti.shtml >.
[edit] Summary
- Front cover of a softcover edition of The Banditti of the Plains by Asa Shinn Mercer, published in the United States by ... someone. Can't figure out who. By I.G. McPherren? All I found on her is at < wiki.wyomingauthors.org/Ida+Geneva+Miller+McPherren >.
Presumably 1930 (I thought), thought the inside lists a copyright as of 1930.
- Jacket design and front cover photograph uncredited.

[edit] Fair use for The Banditti of the Plains
This image, < banditti_of_the_plains_1930_edition >, is being linked here; although the picture may be (?) subject to copyright (1930 edition? -- unsure), uploader feels it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- it is a low resolution copy of a book cover;
- the image will be used for educational purposes, to illustrate The Banditti of the Plains and other relevant articles in an encyclopedia;
- it does not limit the copyright owner's rights to sell the book in any way;
- copies could not be used to make illegal copies of the cover artwork on another book;
- the image is significant because it depicts a particular book by a notable author.
[edit] Info from book itself
Copyright 1930. Unsure -- thought edition was 1930. By I.G. McPherren, "All Rights Reserved."
[edit] Licensing

qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Other use of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, might be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. |
[edit] Hope that's enough info
Hope that's enough info. Don't want to stamp on anyone's copyright.
