Bantay Bata
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bantay Bata 163 is a social welfare program of ABS-CBN, in the Philippines. Launched in 1996, it aims to protect children from any form of abuse from their guardians or parents. It introduced the Dial 163 24-hour telephone hotline service. The service allows the public, including children, to call a telephone number to report cases of child abuse and exploitation. [1][2] It operates a call center that responds to child abuse cases via rescue operations, offers online counseling for child-family relationships[3] and assist victims of child sexual exploitation. The program also works with the DSWD.[4] Bantay Bata is also the most widely supported cause in the Philippines for Filipinos around the world.[5]
