The Bank of Mexico (Spanish: Banco de México), abbreviated BdeM or Banxico, is Mexico's central bank and lender of last resort. Banco de México is autonomous in exercising its functions. Banco de México main objective is to achieve stability in the purchasing power of the national currency. Its current governor is Guillermo Ortiz Martínez, who was appointed in 1998.

- July 1931 : Ley Monetaria constituted.
