BankAtlantic, a subsidiary of BankAtlantic Bancorp, Inc. [NYSE: BBX] and based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in the Miami metropolitan area. BankAtlantic is a company that provides consumer and commercial banking services in south Florida. It was founded in 1952 and currently has branch locations in Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade County, Martin and St Lucie counties as well as around the Orlando and the Tampa Bay area. As at the end of 2005, BankAtlantic had assets of $6.47bn with liabilities of $5.95bn. Its current chairman is Alan Levan and it's CEO is Jarett Levan.
