Bandarban Sadar is located at 22.2333° N 92.1917° E . It has 9981 units of house hold and total area 501.99 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Bandarban Sadar has a population of 49711. Males constitute are 56.07% of the population, and females 43.93%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 27417. Bandarban Sadar has an average literacy rate of 34.5% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
