[edit] Two Teams
Before editing this article, remember that there are two different Baltimore Blast teams. The first team played from 1980 - 1992 and folded with the origial MISL. The current team began in 1992 as the Baltimore Spirit before later changing its name, but it has no connection to the original team. Put edits under the correct team. - I know the Blast existed as two separate entities, I have been a fan of theirs since their existance in 1980, however in the table I created I made the distinction of when the team played and in what leagues. Thanks for adding the logo of the Spirit I was going to do that this week. Should I then put split the year-by-year history into two separate tables? Rick 03:58, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- I would have one table for the 1980-1992 Blast and one table for the 1992-present Spirit/Blast KitHutch 15:00, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- Ok I'll work on that then Rick 05:26, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- Here's the thing though about the Blast. They do not acknowledge that there were two separate teams. In fact, they celebrated the 25th anniversary last season. Maybe we oughta just combine the two teams. Heck, the MISL2 acts like it's from the original league when none of the current teams were involved in it.
- Whether or not they acknowledge it or not is a moot point. They are two different organizations. Ed Hale folded the original Blast when the original MISL folded. If Bill Stealy hadn't put the Spirit in Baltimore there would have been no team after 1992. The WISL Sockers seemed to share the history and records of the original NASL/MISL team but everyone knows that they were two different teams. There has been 25 years of indoor soccer in Baltimore, not 25 years of Blast soccer. KitHutch 18:40, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
- I gotta agree with the first dude. Most of the Blast went over the Spirit. How many teams in the league have been saved from folding? 69.137.234.44 22:14, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- If the current Blast are a continuation of the original Blast, how come the team records only go back to 1992 which was the year that the Spirit were founded? KitHutch 02:51, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- People sure have trouble understanding its two different teams. People, the Blast folded. The Spirit replaced them where they eventually took on the Blast name again. OsFan 14:51, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Players
Currently I plan on creating Wikipedia pages for Blast players. I currently have started Denison Cabral's, so if you'd like you can start adding information to it or even get ahead of me and create other player's pages if you'd like.
I know that there is very little information about some players, but I imagine we can find out things through articles in the newspaper and the like. OsFan 22:02, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Danny Kelly
Danny Kelly is the interim coach of the team, right? I'll just put that down on the page, and if/when he becomes the official coach we can change it. OsFan 15:20, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Tim Wittman
Should we have placed 2006 as the last year Wittman coached. Chances are that year could very well be his last, but to the best of my knowledge, no official declaration has been made. We could be jumping ahead of ourselves. OsFan 21:37, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- Ed Hale has said he won't be coming back, at least it appears so from the Baltimore Sun today (3/31/06).
- You are correct that Hale did say that. I have then changed the Wittman's years to reflect that he is gone. BTW, please sign Discussion messages using Four ~. OsFan 14:15, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- Assaulting a referee will likely mean that Wittman has probably coach his last sanctioned soccer game. Since the MISL is part of the USSF, referee assault is taken very seriously. Here in Central New York, a rec league player was banned for five years for headbutting a ref. KitHutch 15:41, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
- You're probably right and Wittman has been suspended through the 2007-2008 season. Somebody changed it back to as though he was still coach. OsFan 23:00, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Blast.gif
Image:Blast.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 14:27, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
