Ballykeeran, in County Westmeath, Ireland is a small village near Glasson. Located in the townland of Annagh overlooking Loch Ree, there are a number of friendly B&Bs, a caravan park, and the "Dog & Duck" pub.
The poet and philosopher James Patrick Gandy was born here in 1837 and is believed never to have left the village between his birth and his death in 1920.[citation needed]
