Balakovo

Coordinates: 52°2′N, 47°47′E Balakovo (Russian: Балако́во) is a town in Saratov Oblast, Russia. Founded in 1762, town status since 1913. Population: 200,470 (2002 Census).

Balakovo is the location of the Saratov Hydroelectric Station on the Volga River and the Balakovo Nuclear Power Plant. It is served by Balakovo Airport.

There is a speedway team called SK Turbina.
