Baid

Baid are found among both Hindus of India and Pakistan . Baid is a got of the Oswal Bhabras and Mohyal brahmins in Punjab and Rajasthan. Baid are actually Rajputs who follow both Jainism and Hinduism as religion.

There is misconception that Baid are Banias(Seths). If history is evaluated, then most of Oswals including Baids are Rajputs.

So let not call us as Banias(Seths).We must call ourself as Rajputs as our Fore Fathers did. Today's Baid live in major metropolitan areas in India such as Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi etc apart from parts of Rajasthan as well as lots of places abroad, such as North London.
