Backlot Stunt Coaster, formerly called Italian Job: Stunt Track, is a launched roller coaster currently open at Canada's Wonderland. Its theme was centered on the climactic chase scene at the end of the 2003 film The Italian Job. The ride features unique cars which resemble ¾ scale MINI Cooper cars. Special effects are incorporated throughout the ride which include sound effects built into the cars, a helicopter that attacks riders with simulated machine gun fire, and pyrotechnic and water effects. During the boost at the beginning of the ride the coaster accelerates from 0 to 40 mph (0–64 km/h) in 3 seconds.

[edit] Ride Layout and Experience

The trains are launched from 0-40 mph in the first LIM boost section directly after the station into a triple helix. The track then drops down and you weave through a narrow gorge past cop cars and turn 180 degrees back in an over-banked curve. Following this is a banked turn through the park past the Hollywood sign. Your train then rushes down subway stairs and curves to the left and slows down, where you experience the black helicopter and the fire show. The cars are launched again into the tunnel and twist downwards. Upon leaving the tunnel, the track drops down again into a water splash section before curling left into the final brakes.
